Jeremy's daughter married the son of Newton Ogle Dean of Winchester. Jeremy was closely connected to Sheridan, whose second wife was a daughter of Newton Ogle and paid Goldsmiths servants on occasion. Jeremy had an estate at Eling in Hampshire next door to Colonel Wentworth Searle of the South Hampshire Militia. A nephew of Jeremy's was a parson on the Isle of Wight. The senior branch of the Sneyd's, at court, had an estate at Longparish. When Mrs Thrale became Mrs. Piozzi she was in Bath a few doors along the street from the Austen's.
